Bill attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE for his undergraduate study then moved across town to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center's physical therapy program on full scholarship. He graduated in 2000 with high distinction and began practicing outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in Arizona. Bill and Nate Koch, director of Endurance Rehabilitation, began working together in 2001 at the Spire Institute practicing state-of-the-art sports medicine therapy.
While at the Spire Institute, Bill had the fortune of working directly under Dr. Raj M. Singh. Dr. Singh is rated the top physiatrist in the valley with an emphasis on spine care and rehabilitation. With the help of Dr. Singh's expertise, Bill became proficient at treating the entire spectrum of spinal injuries. It was also at this time Bill was introduced to the DRX 9000 decompression system and has used this machine for the past 7 years to aid in rehabilitating lumbar injuries.
Since its inception in 2003, Bill has been working with Endurance Rehabilitation. He has successfully rehabilitated patients and athletes at all levels from recreational to professional. He has specialized in the orthopedic treatment of all areas of the body, but is most proficient in the spine and foot/ankle. Bill utilizes a whole-body biomechanical approach to the spine which allows him to succeed in rehabilitating cases where direct interventions have failed.
Bill has been published in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy for his Master's Thesis concerning core abdominal musculature activation in a physical therapy setting. He has appeared live three times on Channel 3's Good Morning Arizona discussing the DRX 9000 treatment, orthotic fabrication, and appropriate footwear selection. Bill is also the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education for Endurance Rehab. He has been a clinical educator for 7 years and is the primary educator for our student therapists (four of whom Endurance has hired).
Bill summarizes his treatment of the spine with these statements: "Your body is an amazing compensatory machine. Until you have fully utilized the potential of your entire movement system, you can't say with certainty that there is no hope for your pain. Whether you suffer from chronic spine issues or are pre/post surgical, there is always an unexplored avenue in your body that could lead to improved function and a better life."
