Nathan received his physical therapy degree and his certification in Athletic Training from Saint Louis University in 1996. While attending the university he provided sports medicine to NCAA Division I men’s and women’s athletics (at SLU and the University of Nebraska) and worked in the Biomechanics lab as a research assistant, where his work was published. At the conclusion of his collegiate career, Nathan was awarded 2 of the most prestigious awards at the University: The Father Reinert Award for Service and the Most Outstanding Student in all of the Allied Health Professions.
Nathan then spent 3 seasons working part-time for the St. Louis Rams and full-time for a Sports Medicine Clinic (ProRehab) in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to working in professional football, he was also able to work with professional Hockey (St. Louis Blues) and Olympic Track Athletes during his stint with ProRehab.
In 1998, Nathan moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. He became director of a physical therapy clinic in the west valley. In 2000, Nathan became the Director of Physical Therapy and Fitness at the Spire Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. While there, Nathan was able to work with an elite team of medical professionals and provide the most technologically advanced sports medicine available.
In 2003 Nathan founded Endurance Rehabilitation. Since then Endurance Rehab has been nationally recognized for its treatment and testing protocols with endurance athletes. Endurance Rehab has been featured on Channel 3, Active.Com, Arizona Republic, Sweat Magazine, Pez Cycling.Com and Competitor Magazine. Nathan has been an educator to fellow therapists, presenting on “Core Strengthening for the Endurance Athlete”. His athletes and clients include: professional cyclists/triathletes/baseball/football/basketball players, winter Olympic athletes, race car drivers, ultrarunners, collegiate athletes, HS athletes and everyday recreational athletes. Endurance Rehab is also the official Training Center for Joe Friel’s Ultrafit, the most premier endurance coaching service in the US.
In addition to his commitment to Endurance Rehab, Nathan also serves as a Medical Advisor to eSoles, an internationally known custom orthotics company. He is on the Board of Directors for TriScottsdale, a group committed to expanding the sport of triathlon and supporting Susan B. Komen’s Breast Cancer Organization. Previous non-profit support includes 5 years on the Board of Directors for Manos De Ayuda, a non-profit organization that provides medical care to needy children in Mexico. Supporting the community and those in need is a priority for Nathan and the rest of the staff at Endurance. As evidence to the fact, that each full-time employee is allowed an extra week of paid vacation for volunteer work with a recognized non-profit.
