Nathan Snell, PT, CSCS Clinic Director (Email)
Nate is an Arizona native. Growing up competing in individual and team sports led him to an appreciation of the human body regarding injury recovery and sports performance. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology in 1998. He went on to pursue his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at A.T. Still University, graduating in 2004. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Nate's clinical expertise is in the evaluation, treatment and prevention of common orthopedic injuries. He is dedicated to the performance enhancement of all athletes of all skill levels through his design and instruction of the Arcadia Core Conditioning Class. He has received additional clinical education in the use of ASTYM and advanced concepts of foot and ankle dysfunction. On a personal note, Nate was married in 2004 to Emily and is expecting twin boys in October 2010.
Mark Gannon, PT, OCS, CSCS Physical Therapist (Email)
Mark grew up in Illinois with a love for all things related to sports and human performance. He graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2001. While at the University of Illinois he began to develop an understanding for sports medicine and performance enhancement as a student athletic trainer for the men's football, track and field, and wrestling teams. He continued his education at Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. That same year he moved to Arizona and began practicing in a pain management facility focusing on treating complicated orthopedic and chronic pain conditions. He attained his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In 2010 he received his certification as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association. Mark's clinical interests include combining biomechanical assessment with orthopedic manual therapy skills to obtain optimal treatment outcomes. Outside of clinic Mark is an avid hunter and enjoys hiking and camping throughout Arizona with his wife, Erika.
Krysten Axelson, PT, DPT Physical Therapist (Email)
Krysten spent the earlier half of her life bouncing coast to coast as the daughter of a US Marine and settled in Arizona during the summer of 1998. She attended high school at Desert Vista where she participated in Women's Soccer, Women's Track and Field and Women's Lacrosse, and, as a competitive athlete, began to gain an appreciation for the resilience of the human body and benefits of sport specific rehabilitation and sport performance training. She received a full ride scholarship for academics, as well as a cash scholarship from the Arizona Girl's Lacrosse Association to attend and play lacrosse at Arizona State University, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology during the summer of 2007. She went on to pursue her Doctoral degree at A.T. Still University and graduated in the fall of 2011. While completing her degree, Krysten gained experience in several facets of physical therapy, and very much appreciated the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and abilities, including college, professional and Olympic level athletes. As a former collegiate athlete, Krysten is dedicated to treating athletes of all intensities. She values the importance of dedication and a positive attitude and sharing those qualities with her patients in order to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals. Her clinical treatment philosophy includes the combination of human biomechanical assessment with training functional movement patterns and restoration of the body's foundation to movement, the core.
